A send is counted once, the first time a packet goes out. Spotting a wrong name afterwards and fixing it costs nothing, which is the difference between a product you can correct and one you have to be careful around.
Your usage page lists the free events alongside the billed ones, so you can see the corrections you made and see that they cost nothing.
